Dear Professional Colleagues, Researchers and fellow students,

I am pleased to introduce the first issue of "Journal of Young Pharmacists (An Addendum to InPharm Communique)", an quarterly peer-reviewed publication of InPharm Association. As you all are aware, InPharm Communique was the first official journal of InPharm Association; after its inception, it has had strong readership over the past two issues. InPharm initiated and intended to start a Journal for the benefit of its members. Due to the enormous response and worldwide submissions it was decided to start a separate publication titled Journal of Young Pharmacists (J Young Pharm). The official website is www.jyoungpharm.in and Web-based manuscript submission system is available at www.journalonweb.com/jyp.

Its maturity is an outcome of the consistent support of high-performing authors, a supportive and professional publishing house, dedicated referees, many vigorous and conscientious editorial boards and the collective input from the Editorial board members. At InPharm, the word that describes us is "Quality." As we try to continually meet the wants and needs of our readership we are required to stretch, expand and continue to evolve. We have also revamped our editorial boards.

Various researchers who are active in the pharmaceutical field have been enrolled for providing the necessary impetus for the new journal. We are quite hopeful and shall be grateful to the service that these eminent scientists shall provide to the growth of JYP. With the help of our section editors, National and International advisory board members, reviewers and Medknow Publications, we hope to further improve our peer review process and to obtain sound input for JYP's growth.

One of our main challenges is to encourage all researchers involved in the field of pharmacy to support and utilize JYP for their research. Further, they will be encouraged for submitting their highest quality research and review articles to JYP. In return, we will provide increased editorial assistance to authors and promise rapid turnaround for their submitted papers. We welcome original research articles, full-length reviews, short reviews, and general articles in field of pharmacy. We have also established a team of more than 100 reviewers, who are committed to timely and high-quality appraisal of review articles. Our goal is to provide quality publication and publish the most important research and review articles in the field of pharmacy.

We believe that 2009 will be a vibrant, creative, and productive year for those committed to integrated research; we expect JYP to be the place that keeps you informed of the best of the cutting-edge information in pharmaceutical research. We welcome your feedback and suggestions. The members of the editorial team and I will be happy to discuss the progress and vision of the journal in future.

I request all the readers to support JYP by being a part of the InPharm Association and making JYP available for the students in the library of your institution. Further, you can request for its subscription, visit www.inpharm.org for memberships and to learn more about our activities.
